Manager/Sr. Manager – Strategic Initiatives & Business Development, China (Location: Beijing/ Shanghai)

 

The Position

Reporting directly to Vice President & General Manager, Hologic China, the Manager/ Senior Manager – Strategic Initiatives & Business Development, China will work closely with the country BU leadership teams to drive for strategic growth for Hologic China. In addition to leading key activities around business planning & forecasting, the role will also be responsible for driving commercial strategy, key strategic partnerships and inorganic growth opportunities. The role requires close alignment and engagement with country, regional and global stakeholders to drive the next frontier of growth for Hologic China.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Understand the strategic priorities, drive initiatives and develop strategic growth opportunities to support overall strategy. Work with cross-BU marketing team:
    • To understand existing strategic focus / organizational competency, and map out desired area for organic or inorganic growth;
    • To define long-term commercial strategy including product portfolio, pricing & GTM
    • To conduct market and product evaluation, business case development, and financial modelling to support the decision making process
  • Identify & drive key strategic initiatives for Hologic China for organic & inorganic growth opportunities (e.g. local partnerships, MAH, JV or acquisition)
  • Work with country, regional and global stakeholders to build strategy, lead annual strat plan process as well as drive execution & conduct business reviews to track business performance
  • Engage in additional business development activities such as China digital marketing platform

Competency & requirement

  • A minimum of ~4-5 year experience in strategy & business development role in a China based Multi-National Company (MNC) OR in a China/Asia based strategy & operations consulting company with a medical-device / pharmaceuticals / healthcare focus
  • Experienced with partnership, licensing and M&A activities including proficient command on financial analysis and modeling
  • Strong strategic thinking with strong ability to understand market trends, financial and economical data’s, customer needs, and assess competitive intelligence data;
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing short/long term business strategies
  • High degree of comfort with hands-on execution with a can-do solution oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Creative, initiative, flexible, and cooperative
  • Fluent Chinese language capabilities in both written and oral. English knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to travel: minimum of 25%, relative to project needs.

Qualification / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health care or related field. MBA/Advanced degree is a plus.
